Ways To Stick To Your Diet At A Bar And Grill

It doesn't matter if you are on a diet or trying to lose weight, you can still go to your favorite bar and grill or sports eatery and have fun. There are ways you can watch what you are eating without having to sacrifice going out to eat, or having some beers and snacks while you catch a game. Here are a few tricks you can try so you don't end up blowing your calorie count during one meal while you are out.

Cut Your Portion in Half

As soon as your meal comes to the table, cut half of your burger, take half of your fries, and put it in a to go box. Instead of sitting there and devouring the entire meal, you will on eat half of it, and you'll use the leftovers for a meal the next day. This is one of the easiest ways to avoid unnecessary calories during the meal.

If the lunch menu is available during the evening hours as well, pick something off that. It will be a smaller portion than the dinner meal.

Drink a Water

It doesn't matter if you're going to be drinking beer or having a pop, drinking a water before your meal will help prevent you from feeling starved by the time your food comes, which can cause you to start scarfing it down. Instead of feeling stuffed after you're done eating, or taking in too many appetizers before your meal, drinking a water will prevent you from overeating.

Eat the Healthiest Foods First

Did you order a salad to start off your meal?  Is your meal a chicken wrap with loaded French fries? Make sure you eat the healthiest things on your plate first, so you are consuming the most of the healthiest options. Filling up on protein filled chicken instead of bacon and cheese fries is going to help you feel more full and less bloated after the meal.

Look at the menu and see if they have anything that is low carb or low calorie marked. If they don't, you can see what types of meat or fish they have that are grilled instead of breaded and fried. You can go to the bar and grill like Buzzard Billy's and have a beer and food that you love, and still stick to your healthy eating and diet plan when you utilize these tips when you dine.
